Every junior and senior girl is all excited about JSB… because they can wear elegant dresses and get all made up!
This year is my first year to watch JSB because I am a sophomore so I can not partake in the event, but I still can help my “sisters” to get ready for it.
I see and hear girls in the dorm all talking about JSB, things like how can they look, what dress would approved by the school, but the biggest and most interesting conversation is who will you go with!
Also there are some girls who are not used to wearing heels so they have to learn all about it these last few days!
Junior classes are in charge of raising money to pay not only for themselves, but also for the Senior upperclassmen.
Juniors have held several fundraisers to raise enough funds for the banquet, these included a pie auction. As a member of the Senior class, I really appreciate the Junior class’s hard work. At the same time, I also do appreciate the Freshman & Sophomore classes for their efforts, even though they are not going to JSB. Their time to attend the banquet is coming in a few years.
We will have a lot of fun doing various activities such as: photo time with well dressed friends, families & school faculty; bowling madness; a fancy meal at a family restaurant, and one of this year’s hottest movie Hunger Games!!!
People who are going to JSB are busy finding someone to go with or getting a fancy outfit so that they can walk out with them in front of Hinn’s Hall’s entrance (girl’s dorm).
Me? Well, I’m looking forward to spending awesome time with my buddies.
We are now having a week before spring break. I guess everyone is exciting for a much needed vacation!
Yesterday we started Spiritual Emphasis Week. We had a worship team from The Father’s House church and they led us in worshiping the Lord on Sunday night. It was great time to worship God and meet new faces from The Father’s House.
In addition, this past weekend we had a yearly event called Iron Chef Competition. Like the TV show, the special ingredient is given by the host and this year it was the heavy whipping cream.
Here’s what happen’s at one of these events: Each team received a $75 ticket so that they could buy any sub-ingredients from the nearby grocery store. They then buy the needed supplies and everyone meets back in the gym where they start cooking. Everyone was so dedicated making their dishes that even the school chefs were quite impressive! Not only people who were in top places got recognition, but they also got certain rewards like coupons.
